Soon, Istimara can be renewed even if the vehicle has traffic violations

DOHA: Vehicle registration (Istimara) can be soon renewed even if the vehicle has traffic violations. The violations will be transferred to a special section and referred to the Public Prosecution once new procedures come into place.

The new procedures will be announced after the end of the “Traffic Violations Settlement Initiative” which will end on March 17, 2022.

Speaking to Qatar TV today, Colonel Jaber Mohamed Rashid Odaiba, Assistant Director of the Media and Traffic Awareness Department at the General Directorate of Traffic, urged people to benefit from the “Traffic Violations Settlement Initiative”.

As per regulations in the initiatives, people can avail 50 percent discount while paying the accumulated traffic violations in the next three months. The initiative began on December 18, 2021 and will continue till March 17, 2022.

He also said after the end of the initiative, new procedures will be announced and according to it Istimara can be renewed even if the vehicle has traffic violations, but it will be transferred to special department and then will be referred to the public prosecution.
