Doha: Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced that it will adopt the system of in-person classes at school, for students in all public and private schools and kindergartens, at 100% of their capacity, with continued commitment to applying all precautionary and preventive measures, starting from Sunday, January 30, 2022.
This is in consultation with the Ministry of Public Health, and after evaluating the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, and in the interest of students and their academic future.
It has also decided the following:
All students of public and private schools and kindergartens at all academic levels must take a rapid antigen test at home weekly, to allow them to enter the school building, provided that the examination is carried out within 48 hours before returning to school, at maximum.
The rapid antigen test will be performed at home, and the result of the examination brought with the student to the public or private school, through the acknowledgment form signed by the guardian that the home examination is carried out during the weekend, on Friday and Saturday of each week.
In the event that the result of the home examination is positive, please visit the nearest health center with the student and the sample, to confirm the result of the examination.
Rapid antigen testing devices will be provided to public school students only through their affiliated schools, and the guardian can visit the school to receive it starting on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
The Ministry affirmed its keenness and commitment to the continuation of the educational process in a manner that suits all circumstances, with emphasis on the application of precautionary measures for students and educational and administrative staff in accordance with the protocol approved by the Ministry of Public Health, especially the commitment to wearing masks, achieving physical distancing and good ventilation in classrooms and administrative offices.
The health teams of the Ministry of Public Health will also conduct random checks in schools to ensure that the educational process is carried out in a safe and healthy environment.
The ministry also called on parents and students to adhere to the precautionary measures to preserve their health, and in a way that contributes to the continuation of the educational process on a regular basis.
