Doha Academy celebrated the International Mother Language Day where the Department of Arabic Language facilitated the event.
It included with a dictation competition for Middle school students for both boys and girls departments dubbed “Our Arabic dictation is belonging and identity.” Meanwhile, Primary school students also participated in educational activities to commemorate the occasion, in an atmosphere of joy and interest. Teachers and staff at the school likewise participated in the event.
International Mother Language Day is being celebrated annually every February 21 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
This year’s theme is “Using technology for multilingual learning: Challenges and opportunities,” which raises the potential role of technology to advance multilingual education and support the development of quality teaching and learning for all.
