DOHA: Mishal bin Ali Al Attiya-owned Sharid won the Dukhan Cup at the Al Rayyan race track yesterday. The winner is trained by Jassim Al Ghazali and was ridden to victory by jockey Yanis Auoabed.
Qadir, owned by Z Mohsen, finished in second place in the QR 80,000 feature race held on dirt track.
Iradah, ridden by Darren Williams, sealed the third place. Sharid claimed the top prize of QR 45,600 while Qadir secured QR 17,600.
Shaird sealed the 1700m race in a time of 1:52:22.
Meanwhile, the Racing and Equestrian Club (REC) will organise 15th Qatar National Purebred Arabian Horse Show this weekend. Purebred Arabian horse fans can assemble at the Indoor Arena of Qatar Equestrian Federation, Al Rayyan race track tomorrow and on Saturday, a post on www.qrec.gov.qa said.
The activities will be held between 3:30pm and 8:30pm tomorrow whereas the programme on Saturday will be held in two shifts - between 9:00am and 12:30 pm and 3:30pm – 8:30pm.
