The Qatar meteorology department has predicted that there might be a slight chance of rain over the weekend in some areas. So, residents if you are planning to head out, be prepared. And on that note here’s a list of things to do over the weekend.

 

Imperial Threads: Motifs and Artisans

This exhibition shows the continuation of artistic practices shared amongst succeeding and neighboring dynasties: Turkey, Iran and India which highlight the exchange of artistic and material cultures in the early modern era (16th– 19th century). Focusing on carpets as the prominent medium, manuscripts, metalwork, ceramics, and other objects are also featured to further illustrate the historical and artistic context of this time. You can enjoy a selection of large carpets and other fascinating objects that will be appearing in the ongoing exhibition “Imperial Threads: motifs and artisans from Turkey, Iran and India”.

Qatar National Music Competition

Head to Katara for the final awards ceremony and gala concert of the first-ever hunt for the best of Qatar’s musical talent. More than 700 young aspiring musicians competed in the QNMC over the last four days.
