Four exhibitions on display at VCUarts Qatar

Doha: A tribute to a grandfather’s life, the outcomes of marrying design with technology, the conversion of embroidery into music, and recreating an office through artwork – these are the themes of the four exhibitions currently on display at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar), a Qatar Foundation (QF) partner university.

The exhibitions, created by VCUarts Qatar faculty, staff and students, run until February 17. They are on display at specific locations in the building. Visitors can book tours during working hours via eventbrite.

‘My Grandfather’s Journey’ by Rasha Alkasab is on display at Project Spaces, Library, ground floor. ‘Computational Potential’ by ‘xLab’, can be viewed at Project Spaces, Saffron Hall, ground floor.

‘The Sound of Thread: Extending traditions through the sonification of Palestinian embroidery’ by Naima Almajdobah, senior graphic design student, is on display at Project Space Glass Display, first floor.

‘Office Hours’ by Michael Perrone, Assistant Professor, Painting + Printmaking is at Project Space Glass Display, ground floor.
