Ministry of Labour participates in 2025 World Governments Summit in UAE

Dubai: The Ministry of Labour participated with a delegation, headed by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour HE Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al Thani, in the 2025 World Governments Summit, which is taking place in Dubai and will run until February 13 under the theme "Shaping Future Governments."

The summit brings together more than 30 heads of state and government, over 80 international and regional organisations and global institutions, as well as 140 government delegations to explore critical global challenges and opportunities.

This years edition examines future prospects and challenges across a range of pressing issues, focusing on strategies to enhance governmental performance, strengthen international cooperation, and facilitate the exchange of expertise.

The summits discussions are structured around six key themes, with artificial intelligence and digital governance at the forefront, highlighting how governments can leverage advanced technologies to enhance efficiency, promote transparency, and improve performance.

HE Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al Thani also participated in a session with senior officials from the labour ministries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

On the sidelines of the 2025 World Governments Summit, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour held individual meetings with HE Dr. Alfred Mutua, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Republic of Kenya; HE Khalil Ibrahim Al Khoori, Undersecretary of Labour Market & Emiratization Operations at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization of the United Arab Emirates; HE Shayma Yousef Alawadhi, Acting Undersecretary of Human Resources and Emiratization for Organizing and Developing the Labour Market of the United Arab Emirates; HE Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Zahrani, Undersecretary for Skills and Training at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and HE Dr. Ruba Jaradat, Regional Director for Arab States at the International Labour Organization (ILO), each in turn.

During these meetings, participants reviewed avenues for mutual cooperation and explored measures to support and develop these collaborations in the coming period, particularly focusing on the impact of technology on the work environment and how advanced technologies can be harnessed to enhance performance and increase productivity.
