MoEHE celebrates graduation of first batch of QSTSS

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) celebrated on Monday the graduation of the first batch of students from Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys (QSTSS), consisting of 59 students for the academic year 2021-22 of the grade 12 students.

Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi handed the graduation certificates in presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, ministry’s senior officials, representatives of the school’s supporting bodies — namely ExxonMobil Qatar and Qatar Development Bank (QDB), the school’s administrative and academic body along with the students’ parents.

All graduates have been accepted by the most prestigious local and international universities in scientific disciplines, noting that most of the students have been accepted in more than one university, which confirms the quality and competitiveness of the school’s outputs.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Al Nuaimi said that the establishment of a national university for science and technology, as well as a secondary school for science and technology for boys, undoubtedly confirms the country’s great interest in technical and applied education, and its focus on the disciplines that it needs towards further development, progress and sustainable development.

He pointed out that QSTSS is a pioneering and distinguished model in Qatar, and a source of pride for everyone in terms of its teaching methods and the integrated education curriculum that it applies in science, mathematics and technology subjects.

Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry Maha Al Ruwaili said that the celebration of this first batch of students from QSTSS is a celebration of success and excellence, and reaping the seeds of excellence and innovation in education in Qatar. She stressed that QSTSS has succeeded in being a vibrant learning community, and said that learning in it has transcended the limits of acquiring knowledge and mastering skills, to be a methodology for creativity and innovation dealt with by technology, supported by research and data-based.

Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave a speech on behalf of the parents, congratulating the graduate students and their families for the students’ great achievements, and contrasting the state of academic competition both in the past and currently with millennials, exemplified by the students of QSTSS, and all of the benefits and facilities their school provides.

Mohammed Al Emadi, the school principal, congratulated the graduates of this batch for their excellence, praising their high scores, and their admission to the best universities, encouraging them to continue down the path of hard work and determination.
