Doha: Strong Northwesterly wind is expected to hit the country from tomorrow afternoon and last through the weekend until Tuesday.

The report also said that the misty or foggy condition will continue tonight and tomorrow dawn (Friday, June 16, 2017).

Met issued an offshore warning of strong Northwesterly wind starting tomorrow afternoon where the wind speed will range from 18-25kt to 30 kt at night north of the sea and the wave height will be between 6-9/10 feet.

On Saturday, the fresh Northwesterly wind will begin on the coasts, where it is expected to range from 10-20 kt to 25 kt at times. Northwesterly winds will increase on Sunday and Monday, reaching a peak of 38 kt at times causing blowing and rising dust, which may cause low visibility of less than 2 km.

The sea wave will rise to 12 ft offshore.

Warnings are expected to continue until Tuesday June 20, 2017.

Temperatures during this period will be around their normal average where the maximum temperature will be in the mid-40s in Doha.

The Meteorological Department urged all residents to take care and avoid the sea-going during this period.
