Doha: Discover Qatar has launched two interactive tours in collaboration with Heenat Salma Farm which is situated at the Al Sheehaniya municipality. The ‘Discover Organic Farming in the Desert’ and ‘Discover Organic Farming and Sunset at Zeekret’ tours promise to give guests an authentic experience of Qatari culture and traditions, warm hospitality and the opportunity to learn about organic agriculture.
Guests will be offered a guided walking tour of the farm to learn first-hand how organic farming of 30 different crop varieties, along with fruits, vegetables, dairy, eggs, honey, and meat, is successfully achieved in a desert environment. Visitors will also witness a unique demonstration of an ancient weaving technique that exclusively uses palm fronds and enjoy a three-course lunch prepared by the farm’s chefs with fresh, seasonal, and homegrown ingredients.

Within a striking landscape, guests will discover the massive monolithic environmental artwork ‘East-West/West-East’ created by internationally renowned artist Richard Serra and experience a magnificent sunset while enjoying snacks and refreshments.
The ‘Discover Organic Farming and Sunset at Zeekret’ excursion includes transportation (pick-up and drop-off from major hotels within Doha city limits), the farm tour, a palm weaving experience, a healthy organic three-course lunch, as well as a guided tour of the “East-West/West-East” art sculpture and sunset with refreshments and snacks. The excursion price starts at QR610 per person for a duration of eight hours.
