Doha: The State of Qatar welcomed the convening of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference, considering it a significant step towards consensus, unity, and building a state of law and institutions.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the decision lies with the Syrians in shaping the future of their country. It also underscored the importance of state monopoly on arms and the establishment of a professional national army to consolidate civil peace, security, and stability.
The ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's full support for Syria's sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and the aspirations of its brotherly people for freedom, development, and prosperity.
