Doha: Due to the current public health scenario, establishments like Barwa Real Estate and Msheireb Properties are either postponing or exempting commercial outlets from rent and other service bills.
While Barwa Real Estate has postponed rent payment by three months with effect from April, Msheireb Properties has exempted all retailers and food and beverage outlets from rent and service bills from March 15 till further notice.
“Due to the potential negative impact of the coronavirus on some commercial activities, Barwa Real Estate announces the postponement of the payment of rents to its commercial units (stores, workshops, showrooms and offices) in its projects affected by these conditions for a period of 3 months starting from the rent of April 2020,” the company said on Twitter.
Yesterday, Katara had also announced that they will exempt all investors and owners of restaurants and cafes from rent and other fees like electricity and water.
“Due to the current public health situation and reaffirming its commitment to its social and national responsibility, Msheireb Properties will exempt all retailers and F&B tenants at Msheireb Downtown Doha from rental costs and other services bills effective today (Sunday, March 15th) until further notice,” Msheireb Properties tweeted.
