Doha, Qatar: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) announced that during the National Sports Day holiday on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, its 20 designated health centers received a total of 4,465 visitors, including both citizens and residents.
This total includes 3,324 patients who visited general medicine and family medicine clinics, while general dentistry clinics received 142 visitors.
Additionally, Urgent Care Units across 12 health centers—namely Al Mashaf, Al Sadd, Abu Baker Al Siddiq, Al Ruwais, Al Sheehaniya, Al Kaaban, Gharrafat Al Rayyan, Rawdat Al Khail, Muaither, Umm Slal, Leabaib, and Al Karaana—handled 504 cases, each managed according to its urgency.
PHCC also ensured the availability of specialized clinics, including ophthalmology, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), dermatology, and pre-marital screening. During the holiday, the ophthalmology clinic served 52 patients, the ENT clinic attended to 39 patients, and the dermatology clinic received 45 patients at Leabaib and Rawdat Al Khail health centers.
Meanwhile, the pre-marital screening clinic welcomed 10 visitors at Leabaib and Al Mashaf health centers.
In addition to pharmacy, radiology, and laboratory services, all available to meet the needs of all visitors during the National Sport Day holiday.
Additionally, PHCC’s Community Call Center provided 169 virtual consultations—both video and voice—to patients who contacted the 16000 helpline without a prior appointment.
This service ensures rapid access to urgent medical consultations and prescription issuance by specialized doctors in the shortest possible time.
PHCC reaffirmed that all on-duty health centers remained committed to serving patients without delays or extended wait times. The corporation emphasized that meeting patient needs remains a top priority, aligning with the National Health Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030.
Furthermore, PHCC stressed the importance of continuous efforts to provide high-quality healthcare services to both citizens and residents, reflecting its ongoing commitment to excellence in primary healthcare.
