Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar condemned the attack that targeted the convoy of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), near Beirut airport, and considered it a flagrant violation of international law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed in a statement today that the State of Qatar completely rejects any attack targeting peacekeeping forces that play a fundamental role in maintaining security and stability in Lebanon, and stressed the need for an urgent investigation into the incident by the Lebanese authorities and bringing those responsible to justice.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's full solidarity with the Lebanese Republic in the measures it is taking to maintain its security and stability, renewing its support for the efforts of the UNIFIL force in performing its duties in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions.
