Moscow: A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck the Altai Republic in southern Siberia early Saturday.

According to the Russian news agency Interfax, citing the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the earthquake occurred in the early hours, and residents in neighboring areas felt the tremors.
