Doha: The Ministry of Labour, through the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking (NCCHT), in partnership with the Workers Support and Insurance Fund (WSIF) and the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), convened a workshop for representatives of Asian communities, alongside members from community and labour organisations, to intensify efforts against human trafficking.

This initiative forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to raising awareness of the multifaceted challenges associated with human trafficking. The workshop aimed to facilitate the exchange of best practices, deepen understanding of the risks linked to both human trafficking and cybersecurity, and empower participants to disseminate this crucial knowledge within their communities—thus safeguarding them against exploitation and digital threats.

Sessions focused on enhancing participants’ awareness of the various forms of human trafficking, recognising key indicators of its occurrence, and providing a detailed overview of NCCHT’s mandate and functions. Additionally, the workshop addressed emerging cybersecurity risks, discussing their potential impact on workers and communities while outlining essential measures to protect against cyber attacks and digital fraud. NCCHT urged all workers to report any grievances related to transgressions or violations concerning human trafficking via the hotline at 16044 or through the email [email protected].
