Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani used his official Instagram account @tamim for the first time to wish citizens and residents on the occasion of Qatar National Sport Day.
The verified account of the Emir shows a single post that was put up around 21 hours back.
The post in Arabic is as follows:
في اليوم الرياضي للدولة تتحول قطر إلى ساحات رياضية في مشهد يظهر الوعي المتنامي بأهمية الرياضة.
And its rough translation says “On the country's sport day, Qatar turns into a sports arena in a scene that shows the growing awareness of the importance of sport."
The followers are growing at a very fast pace and it has reached 63.1k as of filing this report. Every refresh of the screen is adding a few hundreds, if not thousands, to the number.
In December 2017, Emir used his official twitter handle (@TamimBinHamad) for the first time to tweet about the Qatar National Day. Now the account have around 166,000 followers.
