Doha, Qatar: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched its Ramadan Campaign 2005/1446 AH, under the slogan “Fruitful Giving”. It involves the distribution of Ramadan Iftar parcels to more than 538,000 beneficiaries in 16 countries during the holy month of Ramadan, as well as year-round humanitarian and development projects for over two million beneficiaries in Qatar and 11 other countries.
During a press conference yesterday, Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, QRCS Secretary-General, expressed his sincerest congratulations to QRCS’s members; the leader, government, and people of Qatar; and the Arab and Muslim nations for the approach of Ramadan.
“The holy month of Ramadan is the ultimate readymade package of mercy, blessing, benevolence, and kindness. It is a spiritual time when hearts overflow with goodness and donations bring hope to those in need,” said Al Emadi.
He added: We at QRCS always make every possible effort to alleviate the suffering of poor and affected people around the world. This effort is particularly redoubled during Ramadan, to receive the increasing contributions by benevolent donors, on the one hand, and translate these donations into aid and projects that meet the needs of the most vulnerable groups, on the other.”
Al Emadi added, “In light of the recent humanitarian events regionally and globally, as well as the worsening humanitarian crises lasting for years or even decades — from Syria to Gaza, from Sudan to Yemen, and from Bangladesh to Afghanistan, to name just a few.”
