Injaaz Stud’s Roman Melody completed a grand double landing the Brooq Cup in the QR100,000 feature event of Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club's (QREC) 10th Race meeting at Al Rayyan Race-course yesterday.
Marco Casamento rode the 4YO bay gelding home to a short head victory for trainer Jassim Ghazali in the Thoroughbred Handicap (Class2) 1900m dirt race.

Injaaz Stud’s Noble Mas-terpiece claimed the 1,100m Thoroughbred Handicap Class 3 (0-95) for 3YO+, giving trainer Mohammed Ghazali a double and jockey Qais Al Busaidi a hat-trick on the day.
Yousuf Mubarak Al Kuwari’s I Am Thunder came up with an impressive per-formance in the TB Handicap (0-85) for 3YO+. Qatari rider Rashid Al Marri was on board and stretched clear to win the 6 furlong run by almost five lengths trainer Hamad Al Jehani, who also made it a double on the day.
Sabhea Awad Ibrahim’s Sarmad Bu Thaila (QA) (Soviet Secret) was the winner in the Local Thoroughbred Handicap (0-80) for 3YO+.Qais Al Busaidi made it a double on the day riding the Mohamed Khaled Elahmed-trained 7-year-old horse to a cracking 13-length margin in the 1,900m race.
Abdulla Rashid Al Adgham’s Star of War, trained by Hamad Al Jehani, gave a great display of front running under Lukas Delozier.
