Doha: In the first such ceremony since the beginning of the pandemic, and the first in the new Al Wajba campus, Doha College’s Secondary Awards Ceremony saw over 200 students being recognised for commitment to their education and their positive impact on the school community.

Doha College, a pioneering international school in Qatar for the past four decades, has a long history of outstanding students, and makes sure to commend achievements at every turn. The event celebrated achievement treated the audience to music and drama performances from the awardees.

Dr Steffen Sommer, Principal of Doha College, congratulated the students alongside their parents and staff who helped bring their aspiration to fruition, saying: “Our focus on high performance pedagogy and our growth mindset approach to learning is evident across the whole school and is certainly reaping rewards within our academic attainment. We take pride in our successes which, like most things good and lasting, take a long time to develop and inculcate so it becomes a defining feature of the culture.”

The ceremony also included awards bestowed by international organisations such as “British Schools in the Middle East” (BSME) to Reem Adam, and the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) to Mirjana Lozancic, Jack Daly and Noumay Barakat. They were awarded for their exceptional contributions to worthwhile projects either in school or in their countries of origin.
