Doha: In line with Qatar’s commitment to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, the Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) once again proved to be the epicentre of energy and enthusiasm during the Qatar National Sport Day 2025 celebrations.

Held on February 11th, under the theme ‘On Time,’ the 14th edition of this annual event brought together thousands of participants from all walks of life—families, athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and community groups—for a day dedicated to sports, wellness, and unity.

AZF once again transformed its sprawling facilities into a vibrant hub of activity, offering over 20 diverse sports and recreational activities tailored to suit every age group and fitness level. From high-energy team sports like football and basketball to individual pursuits such as yoga, cycling, and swimming, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The event witnessed the participation of Minister of Municipality H E Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah; Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, H E Yasser bin Abdullah Al Jamal; Acting CEO of Aspire Zone Foundation and General Manager of Aspire Logistics, Abdullah Nasser Al Nuaimi; President of the Public Works Authority “Ashghal” Engineer Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Meer; and CEO of Qatar Museums, Mohammed Saad Al Rumaihi, in addition to numerous esteemed guests and notable individuals from various organizations throughout the nation. One of the highlights was the various community events held at various locations within the facility, which saw participants of all ages participating in sports alongside professional athletes, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared achievement.

Families also flocked to the kids’ zone, where younger attendees could try their hand at mini-golf, obstacle courses, and even virtual reality sports simulators.

The event also showcased an exceptional skydiving performance in partnership with the Qatar Air Sports Committee. A group of skilled skydivers performed stunning jumps from significant altitudes, proudly displaying the Qatari national flag in a remarkable exhibition of national pride and patriotism.

Al Nuaimi underscored that the significant success of National Sports Day demonstrates the foundation’s strong dedication to fostering a comprehensive sporting environment that promotes participation among all members of the community.

“We are witnessing remarkable engagement from people of all ages, from children to adults. This is clear evidence that National Sports Day has become an integral part of our sports culture,” the AZF Acting CEO said.

He also emphasized that this achievement plays a crucial role in advancing Qatar National Vision 2030, as Aspire Zone Foundation aims to inspire everyone to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. He pointed out that Aspire Zone serves not merely as a sports facility but as a vital platform for cultivating a healthy society.

As part of the activities of the day, the Aspire Zone Foundation employees participated in the Aspire Walk, a sporting event that encompassed a 1 km route around the lake at Aspire Park. The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including members of the Shura Council, who expressed their support for the foundation’s mission to foster a sports culture and incorporate it into everyday life by walking alongside the participants.

The activity included three training stations positioned along the route, each overseen by qualified trainers. Each station was allocated five minutes, allowing participants to partake in various exercises aimed at enhancing their fitness levels.
