Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) has issued a new book on the importance of the development of environmental media.
The book entitled “Environmental Media and the Inevitability of Development” addresses the importance of media in serving environmental issues, and highlights the role of environmental media in spreading awareness and promoting sustainability. It is scheduled to be launched at the Doha International Book Fair, which will be held from May 8 to 17, 2025.
The book, authored by Ahmed Hussein Al Mutawa, reviews the history of media in Qatar and its development, and highlights the important role that media, whether traditional or modern, must play in focusing on environmental media to achieve sustainable development goals.
The author discusses the difference between media that addresses environmental issues in general, and specialized media that focuses deeply on these issues, stressing the importance of having specialized environmental media, especially in light of the growing interest at the local, regional and international levels in environmental and sustainability issues.
The book indicates the importance of establishing environmental media that contributes effectively to supporting sustainability, with a focus on developing cooperation with initiatives, ideas and innovations that support this trend.
