Doha, Qatar: Qatar Foundation (QF) has opened its latest sports offerings with the inauguration of indoor and outdoor padel facilities at Education City and Education City Golf Club (ECGC).
Focused on promoting physical and mental well-being through padel, The Dome Padel Club at Education City aims to cater to enthusiasts of all levels. Whether newcomers to the sport or seasoned experts, the club promotes a social environment that brings the community together.
Qatar Foundation Communication Initiatives, Senior Engagement and Activation Specialist, Hamad Al Shaiba, emphasised the importance of sports in life and health, highlighting the Foundation’s commitment to providing top-notch facilities for various sporting activities. “We not only have padel facilities, in QF we have different sports facilities like football, and in future we will have basketball [courts]. Also we have stadium for ladies, we have everything in QF,” he told reporters during a press tour yesterday.

The Dome Padel Club’s Head Coach and Sports Manager, Edu Franza, highlighted the club’s partnership with Adidas Padel, offering superior quality courts and materials. The club utilises the Playtomic application for lesson bookings, with plans to introduce membership benefits and discounts for members. “Education City offers a wide range of options to enjoy sport, not just padel, and it is home to world-class facilities and large natural spaces. All these features make it one of the best options for lovers of any kind of sport,” he explained.
Looking ahead, Franza said the club aims to host tournaments and competitions to cater to the growing interest in padel sports in Qatar.
Plans include organising amateur tournaments and potentially hosting large-scale events post-Ramadan. “People who play paddle in Qatar are so interested in the sports, not only to play in a friendly way but also, they want to compete, so we are planning to organise ranking so they can compete in the club,” he told reporters.
The Education City Golf Club also joins the initiative by offering five outdoor padel facilities, including a private court to the public, complemented by membership benefits such as access to the fitness club and golf lessons.
Both indoor and outdoor facilities are open to all, with dedicated slots for women and mixed sessions throughout the day. Bookings can be made through Playtomic’s webiste: playtomic.io, providing players with access to a global padel and tennis community for finding partners and competing in tournaments worldwide.
The Dome Padel Club in the Education City is open daily, from 7am to 12am, with ladies only slots every day from 11:30am to 5:30pm, with an extension to 7pm on the weekends. Mixed slots can be booked from 6:30am to 11am and from 6pm to midnight. The Education City Golf Club padel courts are open from 6:30am to 10pm.
