Museums, exhibitions remain open: Qatar Museums

Qatar Musems (QM) announced that its museums and exhibitions will remain open with full capacity.

Point number 17 on the Cabinet’s precautionary measures released earlier stated: 
“Allowing the opening of museums and public libraries with a full capacity, provided that all visitors to those museums and public libraries have completed doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.”

QM said that prior visiting, a visitor must book tickets online and present his Gold Ehteraz and wear a mask.

Among the ongoing exhibitions include Virgil Abloh: “Figues of Speech,” at Fire Station: Artist in Residence; Kader Attia: On Silence at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Art; Christian Dior Designer of Dreams at M7 in Musheireb; and Jeff Koons: Lost in America at Qatar Museums Gallery: Al Riwaq. 

All exhibits will run until March 31. 

Also, American Muscle Cars in Qatar at National Museum of Qatar, to run until February 15.

QM is likewise holding an online story time dubbed Fahad and Rawda’s Adventures with Aws on January 15 from 4pm to 6pm. 

The story follows the escapades of two children and a hoopoe bird as they travel to different places in the country. Through the story, children will learn about Qatar’s cultural landmarks and historical sites.

And an online workshop on Sparkling Handmade Headband by M7, which will run on all weekdays until March, from 9am to 9:45am, and 11am to 11:45am. Create your own headband is inspired by the exhibition Christian Dior Designer of Dreams. 

Participants of this workshop will make headbands inspired by the dresses displayed in the exhibition. They will use different types of materials to create rare pieces of art.

The story time and workshop are free to attend and registration is required through QM’s website.
