Doha: The FIFA World Cup in Qatar perhaps is the perfect chance for football fans in the country to meet the biggest stars in the sport. Some have come close as spectators in stadiums where matches are held, while some, do so by chance as they were going out for shopping.
Fans swarmed a sports outlet in Villagio mall when word spread that Neymar is in the vicinity. Surely, Eigon Oliver's striking resemblance and best impersonation of the Brazilian football star almost got everyone fooled. Almost.
With a verified handle and one million followers on Instagram, sosiadoney, the famous Neymar doppelgänger has been out and about in Doha. He first caused uproar on social media when he was spotted in the stands of Stadium 974, the venue for Brazil's game against Switzerland that night.
Dressed up in Brazil's training kit and surrounded by security, Brazilian fans thronged him in an instant shouting "Neymar!" thinking he's the real deal. That night, Brazil's forward Neymar wasn't even present at the stadium due to his ankle injury.
Nonetheless, his video went viral and took Qatar's social media by storm.
As the World Cup fever continues to grip Qatar, Oliver has visited some of the country's top attractions during the tournament. On Instagram, he has shared moments when he was at Corniche, Msheireb, and more.
Nandos was also taken by surprise when he visited one of their outlets. In an Instagram post, Nandos Qatar said: "This football season, nothing surprises us anymore. Still #keepingitreal #nandosqatar"
Surprisingly, even FIFA did not escape his top-notch impersonation, saying: "Not going to lie, I thought it was him too... ????"

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is on its Round of 16 and Brazil will take on South Korea tonight at Stadium 974. This time, the real Neymar will be back on the pitch with his teammates to take on South Korea's wildcards.
