Meanwhile, for children languages are Arabic, French, Spanish, German, Mandarin Chinese, and Portuguese. The courses are under the Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) of College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS).
CHSS Adjunct Professor and TII Language Center Director, Dr. Nima Nazari, said: “We welcome people of all ages and ability levels. We ensure students are immersed in a learning experience which is both effective and engaging.”
He added: “Our instructors are native or near-native speakers who use up-to-date methodologies and technologies to fast-track students to their goals.
Multilingualism is a great asset and is essential to be able to function in today’s global economy. A new language can help boost professional, policy and business success.”
TII also offers placement tests for students unsure of their language levels, to ensure the right education is offered.
Adult classes will run for 11 weeks, while children classes for 14 weeks. Children will practice activities including art and crafts, drama, games, and music.
All courses will be held at Penrose House in Education City. Children courses will start on January 15, and adults, on January 16.
