Doha: The current windy condition is expected to continue through the weekend and wind speed will peak on Friday before tapering down on Saturday.

Qatar Meteorology Department said in their report that the Northwesterly wind will continue to be strong on most areas during the weekend, and winds will reach their peak today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday).

The wind speeds will range from 20-30 knots inshore with wind gust reaching 40-48 knots sometime during the day and it should range from 25 to 35/40 knots offshore. Waves are expected to rise today to 15 feet and from 8 to 12 feet over the weekend.

Low visibility was reported in the morning on Al Wukair-Doha bypass.

AlBawarih winds, which are typical during this time of the year, cause low visibility on most areas due to rising and blowing dust.

The wind speed is expected to gradually decrease from Saturday (June 3) in the range of 12 to 25/30 knots.

According to MET, the marine warnings will be canceled on Monday. The department had issued a warning asking residents to avoid sea activities due to strong winds and high waves.

As wind continues, temperature will decrease relatively compared to past few days, touching low forties in Doha during daytime, which is around the normal average at this time.

The Meteorological Department urged residents to take care and avoid the sea-going during this period.
