DOHA: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Ministry of Interior has caught an Asian national with 47 forged credit cards he used to purchase watches and gifts from different shops.
The CID received a tip-off that purchases had been made through fake ATM cards and that an Asian man was involved.
After a follow-up, a CID team caught the man and seized 47 fake cards and an iPhone worth QR4,000.
During questioning, the man confessed that he had tried purchase goods worth over QR30,000 using the cards, and failed. The man was referred to public prosecution.
The CID urged people to cooperate and report to it through the Economic Crime Prevention Section on 2347402 or 66815757 any suspicious cases or people buying goods through fake credit cards.
