Qatari woman, Noor Al Tamimi, is preparing for one of the biggest challenge in every adventurer’s life — live and travel deep inside the Amazon jungle.
She is planning to develop and learn skills from local experts there and get adapted to nature for a few days before venturing into the expedition only a few have ventured into.
“These skills are necessary to enter the deepest depths of the Amazon jungle and live there for weeks, I will be using the skills I learn there to spend 20 days in the remote Jungle,” Noor said. She will be doing this in June next year and will live and traverse through the deep and dense jungle for almost three weeks.
She has already scaled two of highest and difficult mountains, Mout Elbrus and Mount Kilimanjaro. Noor climbed the highest mountain in Europe, Mount Elbrus (5,642 m), in 2016 and she conquered the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m), in 2015.
“My message to you is that there’s no challenge without a solution. If you want to do something in your life and you know you’ll face challenges, you should also know they can all be defeated. The solution might be now, or it might come with time. Be ready for the opportunity to come,” she wrote in a article published on the website of Oola, a Qatar-based sportwear company.
An avid traveller, Noor is also a certified diver and she loves discovering various aspects of environment, whether it is under the sea or on top of the mountains.
Al Tamimi started climbing mountains when she first climbed the French Alps in 2014.
“I travelled to France from Qatar to hike the Alps. When I got there, I enrolled in a mountaineering course to learn all about using equipment, safety at the mountain, and dealing with harsh climate conditions during the adventure. This was completely new to me and the idea of doing something new arose from my feelings back then, an underlying urge for a change. I didn’t realize the extent of the benefit of this trip until I came back,” she added in the article.
The Amazon rain forest will offer a different challenge for the lady form the ones she has undertaken till now, but with the kind of exposure to nature she has, it is safe to assume she will be flying Qatar’s flag high in the deep jungles of Amazon.
