Doha: Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) announced that through cooperation with the security services of the Organizing Committee for the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup, it will provide the required numbers of skilled volunteers with outstanding qualifications for the tournament, which will be held from November 30 to December 18 in Doha.
This came while QRCS honoured a group of its most prominent volunteers who participated in the organisational procedures for the 2021 the Amir Cup matches by assuming the role of supervising security and safety procedures inside the tournament’s stadiums, especially Al Thumama Stadium, where the final match was held.
The volunteers’ participation would increase their expertise through a tight training program to qualify volunteers to perform all the tasks that will be entrusted to them so that they will contribute in their specific role and in cooperation with other authorities to produce the tournament in a manner that befits the reputation of the State of Qatar.
QRCS noted that 1,670 security and safety guides from the QRCS volunteers have already been prepared and trained, including 1,190 men and 480 women. They will all be responsible for assisting sports fans during the Arab Cup and providing them with the necessary services to contribute to ensuring their security, safety and enjoyment. The Arab Cup is an ideal opportunity to see Qatar’s preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Executive Director of Volunteering and Local Development Division at QRCS Muna Fadel Al Sulaiti praised the important role of the volunteers in the Amir Cup recently, which is a source of pride, noting that officials in many sports institutions are keen on the presence of QRCS volunteers in various events.
She added the praise of the officials of the Amir Cup was very important to QRCS, as they stressed that QRCS’s volunteers cannot be dispensed with in the future, given their high sense of responsibility, and they add their expertise to the task they undertake, and at the same time, they gain experiences to benefit from in larger events.
