Doha: The Court of First Instance sentenced six women to jail for stealing from many branded shops. The defendants were sent to jail for three years followed by deportation from the country after the completion of jail sentence.

Visiting Qatar on a tourist visa, the six women formed a gang in order to steal from luxury shops.

On the day of the incident, carrying four bags, they entered shops, which they had been monitoring for some time, and stole 30 pieces of clothes and women's bags.

The cameras inside one of the shops, which they robbed, showed one of the gang members entering the store located inside a popular shopping mall carrying a bag with her. The footage showed her putting some items inside the bag and walking out of the store.

Security cameras from another mall showed the women carrying bags stealing products and heading outside the mall, where a car was waiting for them at the exit to make their escape.

According to the case details, the Public Prosecutor referred the six women to the Court of First Instance for stealing many shops and requested that they be punished under articles 38, 334 and 340 of the Penal Code.

The Peninsula newspaper posts this kind of legal cases from the courts to raise awareness about the dangers of violating laws or infringing on others in the country.
