‘Nawaf and Anfal’ Photo Exhibition at Fire Station

The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) invites everyone to see the photo exhibition ‘Nawaf and Anfal’, as part of its #DohaHealthcareWeek2022 program. The exhibition is open to the public and aims to give visitors a glimpse into the lives of two 10-year-old Qatari children who live with Down Syndrome. Photographer Mahmoud El Achi seeks to broaden the conversation surrounding disability and how we can support the societal integration of persons with special needs. The 4th edition of the largest art festival in Qatar celebrates the country’s hosting of this year’s World Cup, as more than 300 artists from 65 countries display their football-inspired pieces at the Katara Cultural Village. Alongside the art exhibition is a live painting activity on Thursday and Friday from 10 am onwards and an ‘Artistic Fashion Show’ on Thursday at 7 pm. '90 Minutes' Photography Exhibition

The exhibition by Qatari photographer Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain is a showcase of major sports events and tournaments in Qatar for the past 10 years. The title '90 Minutes' was inspired by the timing of the football game, and Al Buainain also made sure to display 90 striking images to match the title. Catch the exhibition until Friday and see how it highlights the aesthetics of photography and arts through sports, and how Qatar gears up for the World Cup!

Taysir Batniji: No Condition is Permanent Exhibition

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Education City
No Condition is Permanent exhibition features productions and reproductions of artist Taysir Batniji’s work created between 1997 and 2022. He lived in France during this period, but his work focused on Palestine. Although the exhibition’s title refers to a single artwork, the narrative and works on display include Batniji’s diverse practice using photography, drawings, videos, installations, and performances. This exhibition is one of several programmes scheduled as part of Qatar-MENASA 2022 Year of Culture.
'Design a Welcome Postcard'

As World Cup nears, preparatory students are invited to participate in a 'Welcome to Qatar' drawing competition, aimed at engaging them in the events and activities lined up in preparation for the biggest football tournament this year. Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art
Majaz: Contemporary Art exhibition features impressive artworks of Fire Station's Artist in Residence programme alumni who participated in the years 2015–2021. Rather than offering a theme, participating artists were asked to present their own ideas and concepts.
