Qatar and Kazakhstan’s bilateral ties have developed further with high level of cooperation between both countries, said Kazakhstan’s Ambassador H E Arman Issagaliyev.
“The year 2022 was marked by an unprecedented expansion of bilateral cooperation,” the envoy said during his country’s National Day celebrations held on Tuesday at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.
In attendance were the Minister of State, and President of Qatar National Library, H E Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kawari; Minister of Municipality, H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie; Director of Protocol Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs H E Ibrahim Fakhroo; Ambassador of Eritrea to Qatar and Dean of Diplomatic Corps H E Ali Ibrahim Ahmed, along with other diplomats and officials.
Ambassador Issagaliyev noted in his speech that “the main event of 2022 was certainly the state visit of the Amir of Qatar H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Kazakhstan on October 12-13”.
“The President of Kazakhstan called Qatar his main partner in the Middle East. The heads of state agreed to bring bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership in the coming years.”
To mark the celebration, a cake cutting ceremony and cultural presentations were held.
The said state visit led to the signing of 12 bilateral documents in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, mining, education, healthcare, culture, sports, and tourism.
The envoy stressed that Qatar is a crucial partner of Kazakhstan in the Middle East. “Doha was one of the first to support our socio-economic and political reforms,” he said.
One of the most significant days in Kazakhstan is October 25, which commemorates the country’s first step on the path to independence from Soviet rule.
