Doha: There is reason to rejoice for motorists as the Ministry of Energy and Industry has decided to cut the price of premium and super grade petrol in August.
The Ministry announced on its website that price for premium and super grade petrol will be cut by 5 dirhams. The price of diesel will remain the same as that of July.
According to the new price list issued by the ministry premium grade petrol will cost QR1.50 from August, which is 5 dirhams less than July price.
Super will cost QR1.60 in August, a five-dirham reduction from July price.
Diesel will cost QR1.50, the same as in July.
In July also Ministry had cut the price for premium and diesel and kept super price same.
The ministry posted the prices on its website in line with the decision to review fuel prices every month, based on international prices.
The ministry announced in April 2016, that it will start pegging the fuel prices to the international market.
When the first list was announced in June 2016 the premium petrol was QR1.20 per litre and super was QR1.30 per litre. In June 2016, diesel was QR1.40 per litre.
