Doha: In their efforts to minimise carbon footprint and as a pilot to turn Education City campus into a car-free zone, Qatar Foundation started with a pilot day today by encouraging its members to observe a car-free day thus choosing a sustainable lifestyle.
Between 5:30am and 6pm, community members can enter the campus using metro, tram or scooters, stated the QF on its social media.
If coming in a car they were advised to park outside the campus in designated parking and either walk or use a scooter or tram to reach their destination.
Many shared their experience on social media with all of them appreciating the initiative and loving the experience.
Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani shared on Instagram stories pictures of her and children travelling in metro and later walking on the campus.
