Doha, Qatar: Qatar Career Development Centre (QCDC), a member of Qatar Foundation, hosted a closing ceremony to honour volunteers from the Empower Ability program individuals with disabilities and learning difficulties who played a vital role in organizing Qatar National Day 2024 and National Sports Day 2025.

The ceremony recognised key programme partners, including the Ministry of Labor, Qatar Charity’s Ezdehar platform, Qatar Voluntary Center, Young Entrepreneurs Club, Wafeeq platform, and Qatari Manpower Solutions Company ‘Jusoor.’ Additionally, the event honoured the programme’s organizing team, trainers, and volunteers, with special recognition given to individuals with disabilities for their integral contributions to the programme’s success.

The ceremony commenced with an address by Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji, Acting Director of QCDC, who commended the program’s success and the contributions of all participants. He stated, “We deeply appreciate the invaluable contributions of our partners and their unwavering commitment to providing training and logistical support to our participants, empowering them to unlock their full potential. Our partners are key contributors to our success today and will continue to play a vital role in realizing a national vision that leaves no one behind.”

The Empower Ability programme is a specialised initiative that offers comprehensive career development services, equipping participants with essential skills and practical experience to enhance their long-term employability.  Through training and volunteering opportunities at major national events, participants gain valuable communication, teamwork, technical, and personal skills in real-world settings. The program aims to empower individuals with disabilities and learning difficulties to achieve their career aspirations while supporting their integration into Qatar’s labour market.  This aligns with QCDC’s strategic vision of fostering an inclusive workplace where every individual can succeed and contribute meaningfully to society.
