Rain of varying intensity observed across Qatar

Doha: Citizens and residents woke up to a rainy weather this morning as Qatar continues to receive rain in various places, including Doha. 

According to the latest weather update by Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD), rain of varying intensity, thundery at times, continues to be observed in most areas of the country. Current weather may also be associated with sudden strong wind and low visibility as the Department urged everyone to take precaution. 

A marine warning of thundery rain with strong wind and high sea, was also issued as QMD recommends avoiding all marine activities during this period.

Al Shehaimiya recorded the lowest temperature this morning with 15 degrees Celsius, while Doha reached 19 degrees Celsius. 

Weather inshore until 6pm on Thursday will also be cloudy with rain may be thundery at times, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report. 

Wind inshore will be southeasterly to northeasterly at a speed of 05 to 15 knot, gusting to 30 knot during thundery rain.

Offshore, it will be southeasterly to northeasterly 10 to 20 knot gusting to 30 knot during thundery rain at times.

Visibility will be 4 to 8 or 1 kilometers or less at places during thundery rain.

Sea state inshore will be 2 to 4 feet surging to 5 feet during thundery rain. Offshore it will be 3 to 6 feet surging to 10 feet during thundery rain.
