ISL Qatar’s roof garden initiative was honoured with ECO-Schools Programme Awards from Doha Bank for the second year in a row.
Now in its second year, the ISL Qatar roof garden has endured a full year’s cycle and further expansion is under way. Initially created by four ISL Qatar students in grades 9, 10 and 11, the garden project won a top prize in the Sustainability in Qatar Competition organised by the Ministry of Delivery and Legacy. With the prize money and a further donation from the Hyatt Hotel group, the rooftop garden was built and has been a pilot in pioneering ‘Green’ projects in other schools.
ISL Qatar promotes global citizenship and ecology awareness through a growing number of student-led ‘Green’ initiatives.
