Chairman of the Kuşadası Golden Pigeon Culture, Art, and Promotion Foundation (KUSAV), Levent Köylü
Kuşadası, Türkiye: Chairman of the Kuşadası Golden Pigeon Culture, Art, and Promotion Foundation (KUSAV), Levent Köylü expressed admiration for Qatar’s artistic and cultural vibrancy, emphasising the nation’s commitment to fostering a rich cultural landscape.
“We follow with appreciation the importance Qatar attaches to culture and the arts and the investments made for this purpose. The transfer of the riches of the country to art and culture adds a lot to the image of Qatar.”
“I think that the image of a country that is known not only for its oil-based wealth but also for its artistic and cultural richness is very valuable in the international sense,” Köylü shared with The Peninsula.
KUSAV, in collaboration with the Kuşadası Municipality, is orchestrating the ongoing Kuşadası Güvercinada Dinletileri, an extensive series of concerts set to conclude in October. Notably, the CineMoon Ensemble, a member of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, is actively participating in this event, lending its enchanting musical prowess to the occasion.
The ensemble has already graced Kuşadası with a sequence of performances, including an event on August 20 themed “All About Dance,” followed by the August 24 concert titled “The Seventh Art & Music.”
Furthermore, Köylü elaborated on the increasing popularity of the Kuşadası Güvercinada Concerts, attributing the surge in attendance to the allure of historical venues and the inclusion of esteemed artists.
He highlighted the contributions played by the Mayor of Kuşadası, Ömer Günel in ensuring the success of these events. As collaboration between these institutions flourishes and garners support from public entities and sponsors, the potential for realising larger international projects grows exponentially, Köylü revealed.
The inception of the event traces back three years, with the CineMoon Ensemble’s participation spanning the last two years. Köylü also said that the drive to bring international artists to Kuşadası stems from the city’s status as a prominent tourist hub.
Kuşadası is a district located in the western province of Aydın, renowned for its appeal to cruise tourists, making it the premier destination for cruise ships in Türkiye, as stated by Ege Port Kuşadası.
The presence of Merve Kenet Bulun in Kuşadası, along with her direct engagement with Köylü, significantly influenced this endeavor. Additionally, the substantial influx of Qatari tourists to Kuşadası enhanced the rationale, the KUSAV Chairman explained, The CineMoon Ensemble, distinguished for its calibre and diverse ensemble of accomplished musicians, commands attention on a global scale, he noted.
Bulun, a Turkish national is the Founder and Artistic Director of CineMoon Ensemble. Moreover, the Ensemble commemorates its 10th year, a testament to its enduring artistic legacy.
Considering the CineMoon Ensemble’s role in bridging cultural divides through their performances, The Peninsula asked Köylü about the impact of these interactions on fostering unity and understanding between Qatar and Türkiye.
Köylü stressed that the deepening political and economic cooperation between the two nations naturally facilitates a closer connection between their people. The shared interest in culture and the arts further enriches this rapport. In this context, Köylü underscored the significant contribution made by the CineMoon Ensemble in advancing this shared sense of connection.
“Common shares in the field of culture and art will further deepen and evaluate this. We think that we have made an important contribution to this with CineMoon Ensemble.”
