Tickets and hospitality packages now on sale for Qatar Masters

DOHA: Tickets for next month’s Commercial Bank Qatar Masters golf tournament are now on sale, the organisers yesterday announced. 

Played for the first time from Wednesday to Saturday, the prestigious $2.5m prize fund event will be held at Doha Golf Club from January 23 to 26 and will sit at the heart of the 2013 European Tour’s three-week Middle East swing. 

Famous international music stars will also perform in the evenings during the tournament week creating a carnival atmosphere; full details of evening entertainment will be announced ahead of the event.

Day and season tickets for the 2013 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters are available to purchase online at www.virginmegastore.me, and in-store from Virgin Megastore shops in Villagio Mall and Landmark Mall, Doha, as well as Doha Golf Club. 

Regular entry tickets for adults are priced as follows:

Wednesday January 23 – QR50

Thursday January 24– QR50

Friday January 25 – QR125 (includes evening music entertainment and trick shot show)

Saturday 26 January – QR125 (includes Championship trophy presentation, trick shot show, evening music entertainment)

Season Ticket – QR250 (includes Wednesday 23 January - Saturday 26 January event entry and all evening entertainment)

Children under 15 enter for free while evening entertainment is for over 18s only, officials said. 

For those looking for an extra-special experience, popular corporate hospitality packages are available through the tournament’s official website, www.qatar-masters.com. 

In the stunning Hospitality Pavilion overlooking the 18th green, a private lounge for 30 people with multiple television monitors and a verandah includes breakfast, lunch, high tea buffets and an open bar for QR300,000 for the four-day tournament. 

Elsewhere in the Hospitality Pavilion, a 10-person table in the exclusive Winners Enclosure restaurant is priced from QAR10,000-16,000 per day or QAR51,000 for four days, including meals and drinks. 

For individuals, the Lake Pavilion overlooking the ninth and 18th greens offers breakfast, lunch and non-alcoholic drinks for QAR500 per day.

Ryder Cup hero Paul Lawrie will return to defend his Commercial Bank Qatar Masters title in 2013. 

The Scot lifted the iconic Mother of Pearl Trophy in February 2012, adding to his victory in 1999 – the year he won The Open Championship – and became the event’s second two-time winner. Australian star Adam Scott won in 2002 and 2008, while multiple Major champions Ernie Els and Retief Goosen are also among past winners at Doha Golf Club.

The Commercial Bank Qatar Masters enjoys strong local support as one of the highlights of Qatar’s sporting calendar and also attracts many visitors from the UAE, which will host European Tour events in the weeks before and after the Doha tournament.
