The 29th CBSE Gulf Principals’ Conference, under the aegis of Council for CBSE Schools in the Gulf region, was held from January 11 to January 14 in Dubai. It is an Annual event covering 150 schools of the Gulf region affiliated to CBSE. This year it was attended by 130 Principals of various CBSE schools.

The theme for this year’s meet was-‘Wellness, Health and Tolerance’. Workshops related to the same were conducted on all four days of the meet. The focus was on how to make wellness, health and tolerance, integral parts of curriculum planning. It was urged that the Heads of schools should promote happiness, make school a place where children feel challenged but competent, where they work hard but enjoy it, where achievement is the product but not the sole objective.

DPS-MIS presented the regular conduct of TEDxYouth@DPS-MIS as a unique good practice during the deliberation at the forum. This idea was much appreciated by all present.

The forum also honoured the efforts of the achievers Yogesh Parthasarathy and S M Navheen for the year 2015-16. Principal Ms Asna Nafees received the award on behalf of her school which topped in the Qatar Chapter by bagging the first and second positions in the Science stream in the CBSE class 12 Board exams. The school has been honoured for the fifth consecutive year.
