The Traffic Awareness Department of the General Directorate of Traffic organised eight awareness lectures at a number of schools of different educational levels from May 14 to May 19.

The lectures introduced and educated students about traffic laws, raising their traffic awareness and answering all their inquiries.

The organisation of the lectures comes also within the framework of the “Schools and Universities” programme implemented by the Department as part of its annual operational plan 2022.

The number of students who benefited from the lectures reached 284 students from different educational levels — primary, preparatory and secondary.

The focus was on a number of topics that concern traffic safety, including: traffic signs, fastening seat belt, in addition to traffic safety requirements inside and outside school, and introducing students to the parking spaces designated for people with special needs.

Students were also introduced to the most prominent traffic violations.

The lectures also included presentation of a series of awareness videos with the aim of enhancing the principle of traffic safety in their daily lives.

The Traffic Awareness Department called on parents to contribute to raising awareness and educating their children to protect them and maintain their safety and not allow them to drive a car without obtaining a driver’s license and committing to wearing a seat belt.

The Schools and Universities programme is a major programme in the Department’s plans, through which dozens of lectures, events and awareness programmes for all age groups are organised annually in universities, schools, education centres for persons with disabilities, and pre-school education.
