Doha, Qatar: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has been accredited by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) as a continuing professional development (CPD) educational organization for five years, having met all the criteria and requirements applicable at MoPH’s Department of Healthcare Professions —Accreditation Section.

With this accreditation, QRCS’s Training, Research, and Development Center is officially authorised by MoPH to grant CPDs to health care workers in Qatar, in conjunction with the country’s major health and academic institutions, such as Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Sidra Medicine, Weill-Cornell Medicine – Qatar (WCM-Q), and Qatar University’s College of Medicine.

In his comment, Abdullah Sultan Al Qatan, Assistant Secretary-General, CEO of Medical Affairs at QRCS, said, “This accreditation ensures that our CPD programmes meet the highest quality standards, further develop the skills and knowledge of health care professionals, and enhance inter-profession cooperation towards a better ultimate outcome for community health.”

“For years now, the QRCS Training, Research, and Development Centre has been providing several specialist capacity-building courses for medical professionals,” added Al Qatan.

Dr. Hassan Ali Qassim, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of QRCS’s Medical Affairs Division, emphasised the numerous benefits of accreditation. It serves to further establish QRCS’s credibility, reputation, and commitment to the highest CPD standards; ensure compliance with the national best practices; improve the quality of education and training given to health care providers; highlight the value of QRCS’s training initiatives in general; and promote a culture of CME among health care practitioners who seek to meet the regulatory requirements and advance their careers.
