Doha: The Government Communications Office (GCO), in collaboration with the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB), organised a workshop titled ‘Fundamentals of Media Monitoring,’ with the participation of public relations and communications professionals from 15 ministries and government entities.
The three-day workshop, which commenced on February 17, aims to enhance media monitoring capabilities and streamline procedures through the Sharek platform, an advanced digital solution for media monitoring.
Yousef Al Jaber, Director of Government Development Affairs at the CGB, said, “Improving the efficiency of media monitoring is vital to our decision-making process. It enables government entities to better understand and respond to public opinion through data-driven insights.”
“This workshop is designed to help us establish an advanced media monitoring system that enables rapid response to developments while strengthening our government entities’ capacity to create more precise and adaptable media policies,” he added. “By implementing a unified monitoring approach across all government entities, we not only improve operational efficiency but also enhance our public communication, ultimately fostering greater public trust in government communications.”
Najla Al Hajri, Head of the Monitoring and Follow-up Department at the GCO, said, “Media monitoring serves as a cornerstone of our government communications system. It goes beyond simple news tracking to encompass the analysis of public opinion trends, which we then use to refine our media strategies.”
