Doha, Qatar: The Second International Conference on Religious Freedom and Peacemaking, organised by the Doha International Centre for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID), in cooperation with the Multi-Faith Neighbors Network (MFNN), continued for the second day yesterday.
The three-day conference, held under the them “From Religious Freedom to Religious Responsibility: Peacemaking in a Destabilized World,” is being attended by a distinguished group of religious scholars, academics, decision-makers, and religious leaders from around the world.
Yesterday’s agenda includes various sessions discussing the central theme, “Religions and Peacebuilding: Teachings and Practices,” with a focus on the role of religion in peacemaking, activating peacemaking skills in societies, and peacebuilding challenges in conflict zones. On the first day, participants addressed ways to provide support, solutions, and remedies.  A session, titled “Religions and Conflict Resolution,” highlighted the causes of global conflicts, shedding light on different forms of wars whether political or economic and offering recommendations and solutions at various levels to achieve peace and stability.
The sessions also addressed the challenges of peacebuilding in conflict zones, sharing practical experiences of peacebuilding initiatives. Participants expressed their views and shared ideas, emphasizing the need for joint efforts among different religions.
