Doha, Qatar: The Azerbaijan Embassy celebrated yesterday Alifba, a project dedicated to showcasing the richness and beauty of Azerbaijan culture at the theatre of Qatar National Library.
The book Alifba was introduced first in 2019 in Istanbul, and in 2024 was released in Berlin, and yesterday in Doha. it will travel to Rabat, Madrid, and London, to reach audiences worldwide.
The book is more than just an alphabet; it is a journey through Azerbaijan’s history, art, and traditions.
The event started with an animated documentary History in Letters, exploring Azerbaijani history and culture through alphabet.
The event includes a display of some Azerbaijani national costumes, reflecting the richness of their cultural heritage, along with a selection of traditional Azerbaijani dishes.
In addition, the Art unique installation by Rashad Alekberov, created exclusively for this project showcases Azerbaijan’s most iconic landmarks through shadow art.
The event was attended by H E Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Minister of State, the President of Qatar National Library, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Qatar, H E Adish Mammadov, the US Ambassador to the State of Qatar, H E Timmy Davis, besides Qatar National Library staff members.
The audience of the event was diverse in gender, age, and ethnic affiliation.
A special crystal gift was presented to the Qatar National Library to commemorate the occasion.
