Doha, Qatar: Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the State of Qatar H E Dr. Ali Salehabadi, emphasised that the official visit of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Iran, on Wednesday, is a continuation of the deep-rooted relations built on mutual trust and shared interests between the two countries.
In special remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Ambassador highlighted that H H the Amir’s visit to Iran is a clear indication of the two countries’ unflagging determination to bolster the bilateral relationship.
He pointed out that the bilateral meetings between the leaderships of the two nations offer a platform to bolster the political, security and economic cooperation based on the joint political visions to peacefully resolve regional conflicts through effective, constructive and influential diplomacy as part of the two nations’ unwavering commitment to deepening bilateral ties and significantly enhancing the persistent bilateral cooperation and coordination. Dr. Salehabadi underlined.
He lauded Qatar’s crisis-resolution efforts and initiatives under the leadership of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, particularly its recognized efforts in the Gaza Strip. He added that H H the Amir has exerted invaluable efforts to stand in defense of humanity, especially throughout the crisis in Gaza.
Salehabadi highlighted that the recent visit of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran H E Dr Masoud Pezeshkian to Doha, constituted a turning point in advancing bilateral cooperation during which vital agreements were signed to cooperate in the political, economic and cultural areas.
The high-profile and regular visits between officials in the two countries help boost bilateral cooperation in multiple fields of mutual interest, he asserted, pointing out that the policy of good neighbourhood tops the priorities of Iran and the government of Dr Pezeshkian. Salehabadi added that based on this policy the two nations seek to play a constructive role to maintain peace, security and stability in the region.
He commended the years-long relationship between Qatar and Iran which has been steadily growing, underlining that the convention of the joint committee for economic cooperation between the two nations would offer a critical platform to explore the existing capabilities and advance the economic cooperation.
The regular convening of joint security, coastal, and border committees to coordinate on matters pertaining to maritime security, combat transnational organized crime, and ensure regional stability constitutes a significant milestone in the security collaboration between the two nations, Dr. Salehabadi emphasized.
