Dust obscures visibility in some areas of Qatar; motorists urged to be cautious

Doha: Low visibility has been reported from many parts of country due to dust. Earlier Qatar Meteorology Department and Ministry of Interiror (MoI) have tweeted that the visibility has dropped very low and drivers should be very cautions.

“Latest observations show visibility dropping below 1.5km in Dukhan and AlShehemiah due to dust. It's expected to affect rest areas of the country in the next few hours. Please be cautious, MET tweeted.

MoI also warned motorists to be very careful while driving as visibility is extremely poor in some parts of the country.

“Low visibility in some areas due to dust. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and not hesitate to stop the vehicle on the roadside away from carriageway if the visibility goes very low. Have a safe drive,” MoI Tweeted.

"The mass of dust  which affects #Qatar expected to cross the country during late night. However, slight dust to blowing dust expected to continue tomorrow with warnings of strong wind both inshore and offshore. Please avoid all marine activities," the Meteorology Department said.
