Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani used his official twitter handle for the first time to tweet about the Qatar National Day.
The verified account of the Emir shows that the account was created on in March 2015, but he tweeted his first tweet around 50 minutes back.
The tweet in Arabic is as follows
في يوم قطر الوطني نتذكر تضحيات الآباء والأجداد من أجل عزة الوطن وسؤدده، ونشيد بِصلابة شعب قطر في الدفاع عن استقلال وطنه ومنجزاته ومبادئه، ونؤكد العزم على مواصلة طريق البناء والتنمية والكرامة. وكل عام وأنتم بخير.
في يوم قطر الوطني نتذكر تضحيات الآباء والأجداد من أجل عزة الوطن وسؤدده، ونشيد بِصلابة شعب قطر في الدفاع عن استقلال وطنه ومنجزاته ومبادئه، ونؤكد العزم على مواصلة طريق البناء والتنمية والكرامة. وكل عام وأنتم بخير.

And its rough translation says “On Qatar National Day, we remember the sacrifices of our fathers and grandfathers for the sake of the glory of the nation. We commend the determination of the people of Qatar to defend their country's independence, achievements and principles. Wishing you every year happy and properous."
The followers are growing at a very fast pace and it has reached 30k as of filing this report. Every refresh of the screen is adding a few hundreds, if not thousands, to the number.
