Doha, Qatar: The much-anticipated Geekend, presented by the Doha Film Institute, has been a resounding success as it continues to captivate audiences. The event, taking place at the Geekdom Building on Lusail Boulevard, commenced on June 15 and will run until today, June 17, from 3 pm to 11 pm.
The event has attracted visitors from all around the country, all eager to immerse themselves in a vibrant celebration of all things nerdy. Geekend is a shorter version of Geekdom which is Qatar’s largest pop culture.
Albert from Egypt expressed his exhilaration, stating: “I had so much fun during the first and second days. It’s truly a joy to meet like-minded individuals, engage in lively interactions, and share our passions. I can’t wait to return for the final day.”
Christine from the United States, who previously attended as a visitor, revealed her newfound appreciation for the event’s community spirit. “As someone who always marveled at the experience from a distance, being actively involved with different groups has shown me the incredible bond that comes from sharing the same values and interests. Geekend is superb!”
Meanwhile, Joshua from the Philippines said the tournaments at the Geekend were intense and the event was overall a success. “I hope they extend it for a whole week next time, or do it again this summer especially we don’t have classes now.”
